I'm not an expert but if you want more help then you should at the very least state the hardware you are running. It depends a lot on the game though, skate 3 handles it's audio differently so its more reliant on SPU performance for instance. They can probably fix it with a low preferred spu count (1 or 2) but then they end up starving the audio thread, breaking the audio or reducing their performance. this is because their physics thread is being starved. For a game like Skate 3, you have people with their 4core cpu's complaining the game is at high frame-rates but its running at 50% gamespeed. 5-6 are pretty much not worth testing, 6 is usually very close to auto.īut it depends a lot so it's really tough to say. But these days most users should just stick to auto and if they get bad performance with a game even with spu + ppu llvm then they can try and experiment with 1-4 preferred spu threads to find the best option for them on that game. Typically people with a low-end CPU with e.g 4cores and no hyperthreading would find that a preferred spu thread value of 1 or 2 works best, whereas someone a 6core and 12 threads would probably find that 2 or 3 preferred spu threads would work best in most titles. It's not really a good idea to recommend other people use the same Preferred SPU threads and other SPU settings like "Lower Thread Priority on or off because other users will likely have a different experience. These settings depend a lot on your systems CPU and the game. I'm excited to report some bugs further down the road.

The FPS drops to where the game is barely playable.Ĭan anyone offer insight to help find a stable medium? Now setting Preffered SPU Threads to 1 fixes the audio completely, but performance greatly worsens. I've also set CPU priority for RPCS3 to high. I've done some research, and system configurations I've tried include Lowering SPU Thread Priority, which seems to improve performance all around with SPU Loop Detection always enabled. Frame rate isn't affected all too much, but I know it has to do with the SPU and CPU not being able to keep up with one or the other. I get a constant stutter from all audio besides cutscenes and menu music. I usually just have to cap the fps.īut with one game in particular- Sly Cooper Thieves In Time - I'm having a lot of problems with sound.

Most games I've tested work perfectly with my PC (a laptop). I'm just starting to use it and seeing what this program can do is incredible.
